More big carrier news coming

I have such high anxiety. Most of my book of business is advantage. I was really trying to stay calm about all of this and help others to stay calm as well. This would ruin me and my family financially.

A good friend of mine who was high up with UHC, just got canned after 14 years, and at least 10 others he knows about. Future not looking bright.

Most medicare insurance company stocks aren't doing well over the last 5 years. C-suites will do whatever they have to to keep their jobs.

I contacted my area Aetna rep. He said the coasts have been hit pretty hard from people over using the plans. He said the plans that most carriers are putting on non commission is to correct that. He said UHC is going to be doing this as well. He read me the email that he had received and non of the plans affected my area. He said that he can only speak for Aetna but when no one could use coverage during Covid the carriers were making bank. Then afterward they could afford to have amazing benefits. Now fast forward to today and everyone is using the benefits of the plan especially in the area's of no plan commissions. He said this is a bandaid of what happened and a market correction. He said to not be discouraged.

it's the actuaries that need correction.

What link? So far everyone is simply responding to a ridiculously cryptic post by Sam.
Just got this on Cigna. I'm beginning to see a pattern.

Cigna

Cigna PPO plans: CT, GA, NJ & NY
No commissions on new sales on or after 11/4/24, no matter the enrollment period or enrollment method

Renewals on the current BoB & New Sales prior to 11/4 will continue to be paid
As of 11/4 the plans will be suppressed on both SunFire & Connecture

Cigna PPO plans: ALL Other States

Will REMAIN commissionable, but as of 11/4 the plans will be suppressed on both SunFire & Connecture

I actually agree with your Aetna rep. I been saying this on these forums for a while now. Its a hard market. They don't last forever.

If you play your cards right, you'll come out the other side smarter, stronger, and richer.

The chaos from it will create opportunities.

Could you please expand on your comment? How do you know this?
Carriers decide which direction to sail based on the data that actuaries compile. It's normal for change to happen, gradually and steadily when the "math is right". When sudden change happens, that leads me to believe that "the math is not right". Just an opinion of mine.
