My First FE Appointment...

Had my first day field training. The kid I rode with sold 2/ 3, made it look so easy!! Aside from the little baby roaches it was a rush.
I got my first lead back from lead concepts today so I am going there tomorrow..hopefully will see more leads coming in next few days..

Thats nothing...wait til u meet the mama, papa, grandma & grandpa roaches! And by "roaches" I mean roaches or any of the following- bed bugs, fleas, ticks!!

 :goofy:

It's especially bad when some of the roach eggs get on our clothing and you bring the eggs into your home unknowingly.

Oh jeeze. I've caught ringworms, other body rashes, and bacteria infections from going on appointments in houses that had piss poor living conditions! I love meeting new people and helping them with their insurance needs, but I don't love the fact that my immune system isn't strong enough to fight off the infections. Its so crazy to me that the people that live in these places don't know how sick their homes are/have made them.

I have never caught any disease but I have sure came out needing a bath.

Speaking of nasty, what do you guys do about the smoke smell? I wear this nice wool jacket that just seems to absorb the smell. Is there some kind of spray that doesnt smell that will absorb/eliminate smoke smell?

Wow! And I thought going into seniors homes that smelled like cat pee, feet and yesterdays dinner was bad. You FE folks put up with some *stuff* -pun intended.

Is there a filter on FE lists for "buys X amount of cleaning products"?

Fa-Breeze air freshener. Tele-sales eliminates all those problems.

I had to laugh when I read that post. I just finished walking into this guy's house from door knocking. The smell was so bad I couldn't see staying for a presentation. I got in my car and was on the way to my next appointment and the smell was still with me - or on me. I had to rush home and change clothes. Maybe I should keep a fresh change of clothes in the back seat.

I was on an appointment a month or so ago that the smell was so bad I almost couldn't stand to be there. I can usually stand for about anything but that was pushing my limits. I even wrote the guy with a company that required the POS interview so I was there even longer. I've gone back to delivering my policies but I checked that one for the company to send it to him.

I started getting physically ill and I thought I was coming down with a cold. My next appointment was about a 30 minute drive away. It was a fairly nice day for winter so I opened the sunroof while driving to the next appointment to let my clothes air out. Breathing that freash air got me to feeling better and by the time I got to my next stop I was fine. Didn't have a cold or anything. Everything wrong with me was that toxic smell.

The guy's wife had died a couple of months before and it appeared that no one had cleaned the house since she died and then there was the litter box too. It looked like hoarders moved in with the cat lady.

There is no way to describe this smell by writing about it.
