LOL what in the heck,,,,, 24 months of DI and you need more then get you butt to the SS office. How much do you want to pay for DI??? $500, $600, maybe a $1000 a month, and for what so you can be on DI to age 65?? Why not just live in a van down by the river and recive food stamps and medicade.

Now AFLAC has a real nice LTC policy, but that is not what we are talking about here is it...

Trying to compare major medical to a supplemental plan is like comparing apples and oranges. One cannot get by with just supplemental, but one can get by with just major medical. Just something to think about. There is a reason that it is called supplemental.

Really? What are your commissions like, from what I hear they are low....

I get 115 on average for life...

Around 52 for cancer/heart attack/stroke plan

And about the same for Hospital indemnity plans...

care to share?

seeing how you do not sell a true disability policy that pays to age 65 you would not know the monthly cost......and my clients really do not want to live in a van down by the river and receive food stamps and medicade....thats why the buy a true DI policy.....

First time viewing and posting here, but why the disdain for Aflac? I've always felt that Aflac does right what most others do wrong. A great company, useful indemnity plans, plus a terrific cost containment option for companies - something that business owns tend to bitch about lately.

To answer Insurance Guy's question... commission on a Cancer Indemnity Plan is about $382.00 in the 1st year, and about $50.00/year thereafter.

The percentage varies by plan (and contract), but figure 46% 1st year, with 6% renewal commission each year, with 3.5% stock. Agents are 100% vested in renewal commission after 10 years.

and again I do not see what your point is here??

Let say a person age 35 is making $60k a year and wants a DI policy that will pay him/her 75% of that $60k up to age 65. Now this person becomes permanently disabled at age 35, how much is the monthly permium useing a 30 day elimination period?

If it is not about the money, then why are you in the business?

Warning Wil Robinson, when a person makes the statement "it's not about the money" it is always about the money....let me guess you are in this business do to the fact you love to help people..

I do not sell AFLAC life products, and that is not the issue here.

But to answer your question the average is around 30% remeber AFLAC pays out over $6 million dollars very day in benefits,and we give up the BIG commissions in lew of people being able to keep food on the table, the power on, car payment, ect. Plus there is the AFLAC cancer hospital for kids. Last year they cured a little girl that had sisacell. Can the companies you write for say the same??? l
