My personal experience with Aflac

Re: Working for Aflac?

Actually I pay $148 per month $5,000 Deductible ... after that 100% covered and I get tax advantages...

Rather have that than... oh your doctors appointment was $100 well we will send you $50 cash... or oh, you spent 3 days in the hospital... well we will pay you $200 per day cash...

NO thanks Ill take my major medical!

Re: Working for Aflac?

Colonial has kept me on as an agent/broker, even though I've only written 3 small groups with them, and it's been over a year since the last one was written. This conversation has motivated me to contact them and start making sales calls on their behalf. See, they know who their competition is, and they accept that, and try their best to outservice the competition, which in my opinion they do. Is AFLAC a bad product - NO. Are their practices, and how they treat their commissioned agents/brokers less than ethical? Yes. Can they, like Blue Cross, get away with it, due to name recognition? Yes.

I tell my clients that Colonial does not have the name recognition of AFLAC, and that's why they have to provide superior customer service and dedication. It's called being upfront and honest - not an item on the AFLAC new agent meeting agenda.

Wow $5000 deductible...holy cow so if you have surgery that cost $3000 you have to pay all that...With AFLAC at least you will get some cash in your pocket..
Now get your your facts right AFLAC policy series A-34000 personal accident plan pays $450 per day for 365 days, pays $1500 for being hospitalized, so the first day in the hospital you get $1950 cash..and if you are killed in a common-carrier accident your beneficiary will get $250,000 cash.

Do you know how many health questions there on the application for this policy???? NONE!!!!!! How about your major medcial any health questions??

Re: Working for Aflac?

Trying to compare major medical to a supplemental plan is like comparing apples and oranges. One cannot get by with just supplemental, but one can get by with just major medical. Just something to think about. There is a reason that it is called supplemental.

Hodaka1974, you sound just like the AFLAC scripts!

Re: Working for Aflac?

now the benefit period can be up to 24 months. Lets face it if you are disabled for more than 24 months you need help, and if you are
permanently disabled then you get SS and medicare. Thanks for your input--

and thats when you need it the most.....so your saying to AFLAC your a charity case after 24 month's......apparently you are not aware of the details of SS and medicare......so thats AFLAC love for ya......

Any Money that I spend on surgery, doctors appointments, meds, whatever is 100% tax deductible... thats over 30% savings for me... also I have negotiation power... for a physical I pay $50 cash, when in reallity they charge traditional major medical insurance companies much more.... My money grows tax free and I can afford the high deductible... I am not a sick person... I only need coverage for a catastrophic situation...

I cannot imagine having AFLAC as my only medical plan... UNLIMITED OUT OF POCKET! No Thanks...

Again what is the point here?? funny how being the number 1 provider of sec.125 plans in the country means nothing to you people..350,000 payroll accounts, over $60 billion in assets. # 164 on the fortune 500 list.

Lets face it you can not compete with AFLAC with the other supplemental providers. AFLAC is not major medical, so stop trying to compare the two.

AFLAC has no long term DI only short term, what short term DI pays up to age 65???
