My personal experience with Aflac

Re: Working with AFLAC for now

I'm not talking about Mega. I'm talking about carriers like Assurant or GR through AHCP that advance weekly.

If I write a GR or Assurant deal today I'll be paid on it next week.

Re: Working with AFLAC for now

Justin, either you get a second job or a different job, but remember its the long-term aflac is good for..

Yea....many AFLAC agents work at McDonalds as a second job....builds character...helps you deal with people and working for an idiotic icon....BTW....have any of those quacking ducks left over....my dog has chewed threw the last one....

I dont think Healthagent sells any Mega junk.

Well not after he ran into me.......

Taking advances is risky. Period. Especially on health insurance. People quit paying premiums, they get a job with benefits, they get on the wife's plan, they get rejected for health reasons. On the other hand, it is possible to make some big bucks in a short period of time selling health insurance on advances. This thread subject: Just a matter of a choice- of either risk taking and/or doing the "sure thing", as in getting a part time job-just a personal choice.

I don't use advances, but this is really a function of what "kind" of client you work with.

I target small business owners and the self-employed, and these things rarely happen. I could count on one hand the number of policies I've had peel in the last year...

A client canceling is a very rare event for me. Who are you targeting?

Re: Working with AFLAC for now

If I went BtoB today I'd have commish checks within two weeks.

If he started the search for a part-time job today, got hired today and started work tomorrow it would likely be two weeks before he'd see his first check.

Only way around that - and possibly my suggestion - would be to wait tables or bartend at night.

Bartend at night and sell insurance to drunks... easy close...

Re: Working with AFLAC for now

These are some very good points and I appreciate all of them. If I sell an aflac policy I can get paid in 3 days But I think I am going to start selling everything on as earned. I like the idea of having a lump sum at the end of the month a little more easy to manage. I think the Assurant thing and GR will help me out. I am constantly selling even when I am supposed to be off.

I have a friend that is letting me sell his agency's life to his book I get all the commish and he would rather everyone pay up front as would I. I also get some free space at his office. He hates selling Life and needs the credit to go on trips and stuff.

I thought I would treat that like my part time job and do that like Friday and Sat and sell health all week.

Thanks for the replies sometimes we just need to be able to see the other options through someone else.
