I'm new to the biz and i'm trying to figure some stuff out. Seems like going with an IMO is a good way to go. I've seen these to companies mentioned on the board and they seem pretty good. Can i do business with both? I saw someone post that having various is better then just one. Maybe I'm way off base but any help and advise would be much appreciated. I'm in Florida if that makes a difference.

If you are not captive, then you can go with as many companies as you like.

Don't put your eggs all in one basket, and have a few companies. Long story short.

Call at least 3 IMO's and see which each one of them will offer you. Just don't go with the 1st one you see.

What Mark said is correct. Another point to consider is that of a front-end release. Meaning that you can move your contract at any time from that particular IMO.

This will make the IMO EARN your business consistently with good service; as opposed to them having you LOCKED into a contract. I hope this helps....................

thanks so much guys! That's exactly what i wanted to know. I am non-captive working for an independent agency. I've been offered "careers" at Axa, Prudential and some of the other similar companies. Although there are some benefits to that route, i feel that i should be better off independently.
Thanks again!
