is their any nationwide agents on this forum, just looking for some insight, on how thing are going? how are the rates? are you happy? in another words are you making any money? if you put any other captive name in the search, my computer goes on over load.(just kidding). is nationwide on your side? or in your pocket?

Let me guess - they are recruiting in your area? They are advertising on the radio for agents here in Atlanta. I don't have a Nationwide agency but I know someone who has been one for almost 30 years. They had to do some creative finegeling (sp?) because for a long time Nationwide wasn't competitive (in other words, husband was Nationwide agent, wife indy). Now, however the pendulum has swung back to Nationwide. They have suddenly decided to be extremely competitive (especially in households with young drivers). I am one of those, and personally saved almost half on my own home/auto policy. I even cancelled my Travelers on myself, because even with the commission I saved so much and was able to buy an umbrella and still save. I spoke with my Nationwide agent to try and figure out what they are up to because it sounds like they might be undercutting the market right now (IMHO). What that means for down the road when the claims catch up, not sure. Good right now though!

Not quite as competitive in CA. As an independent you can quote through Allied to access the same rates/coverage. They have pulled back a bit.

I can say this, my producers used to salivate when a prospect said "im currently with Nationwide" things have changed recently though and the tables have turned as we have began to lose policies to Nationwide. They have hired scores of Allstate upper management and have rolled out with similar products not to mention dropping rates considerably.

They have also put a lot into their adveritising and marketing
the Direct marketing firm they hired is really good - from what i've heard
