Need a New Anti-Virus for My Desktop

I have avg free on one pc and kapersky av on the other. Also have Ad-Aware free on both. Haven't had any problems at all with this set up. Will never go back to a suite.

Kaspersky has a suite.

You can buy just the AV software or the suite and activate the things you want while disabling those you don't want or need.

I noticed some conflicts with Windows Mail (Vista) on the email portion so I disabled that. Already had Kaspersky email virus on my webserver along with Spam Assassin so it was redundant.

Here are the products compared side by side.

And then comparing Kaspersky with competitors.

AVG is decent, but I had problems with stuff getting thru. Same with Norton & McAfee.

Haven't had any issues with Kaspersky.

Thanks for the post... I notice that KIS is the same price I paid for CA ISS, and also 3-pc license. CA ISS has problems they cannot seem to fix, so I am looking to jump.

One product I would caution everyone about is Trend Micro. This is an offshore product (China), and I wouldn't trust it any farther than I could pitch it. If Kaspersky is correct about the specs, you can easily tell it is a source hog.

All of that stuff sloooooowwwwssss down the computer, I'm glad I don't have to deal with that crap.

Once you go MAC you never go back!!

didn't Kaspersky play for the Atlanta Falcons at one time?

No, that was Michael Vick.

TM is Chinese, Kaspersky & AVG are Russian.

Both countries are sources of trojan emails, phishing and such.

Pick your poison.

Ya see, that's the difference between a Mac and a PC. Why do you need to add stuff for your PC to work efficiently?

I use AVG and Comodo firewall. Haven't had a problem that I can remember.

I have a very short lists of "wants" following my current list of "needs," and I intend to make a slew of purchases to satisfy both lists sooner rather than later. The first item in the "want" category is a Macbook Pro -- my PC days are numbered.

Although, on the other hand, if I ever figure out how to get SugarCRM working on this tower I might not be able to talk myself into setting it up again...

1. Macs suck
2. McAfee
No suites, no bullcrap questions from the software pkg like: "Oh, uh, user? Uh, we have a virus here. Uh, what do you want us to do with it? We can put it in quarantine, but uh". Then you have to do 15 manuvers before YOU manually delete the damn thing.
3. McAffe DOESN'T slow down a computer and is automatic. ie: It'll catch a virus, tell you, and kill it. It doesn't ask you stupid questions and interrupt everything you're doing on the net if it catches one. It catches Trojans, sasur worms, adware, all that stuff tuff guy.
