Need Help Deciding on Erie or Independent

How about production requirements with Erie?

I actually write through an agency as a 1099 guy so I'm not sure what their production requirements are but I do know that Erie will do just about whatever it takes to earn the business they want. If it's one of their niche markets it's pretty much over for the incumbent agent because they will give whatever credits that are necessary.

They are starting to harden up a little now on their credits.

I am proud to tell people I write for Erie. They are a great company.

Its hard to be a good financial services agent and good P&C agent. You may have to bring in someone, or just write the business through an independent and let them handle the service end. P&C is very service intensive, doesnt sound like u are ready for that kind of service commitment.

Another Erie guy here...also write for 7 or 8 other P&C carriers. None can compare to Erie. If you can do the numbers your persistency will be higher than any IA and they give you a somewhat protected franchise opportunity compared to many others.
