Need help finding an agency for the senior market?

I have been working with Neishloss & Flemming for over a year writing MA and have nothing but good to say about them! VERY professional! They keep you up to date and are contracted with all the TOP Carriers.

Go with someone with decent comp and is honest - meaning they will grant you a release in writing before you sign on the dotted line. I like www.ritteriim.com. They pretty much have all the plans you need.

The link is www.ritterim.com and Rick is right... they are very good.

By the way, if you want info on good Med Supps, send me an email at insure(at)greensky(dot)com with your phone number. I'll show you a couple of little used carriers that will blow out the competition in California.

Rick

I don't write many Med Supps... maybe ten a year compared to ten to twenty times that number that others probably write. Last time I looked both Aetna and Mutual of Omaha had excellent rates for the turning 65 age group in CA. Depending on age I only write the two Blues and Aetna (almost always "F") as my clientele takes comfort in "brand names" and are not very price conscious unless you are talking "real" money... which in my area equates to about $1200 a year (I don't know why.)

Same with IFP. A client "of a certain age" (as it is politely referred as) recently was raised from $100 a month for the Lumenos plan I wrote her a year or so ago. I told her she could save over a hundred a month by going with a similar HSA plan with Aetna. She said the amount was not worth the effort of making a new application. She said for $200 a month she would have done it. I've gotten that response a lot the past year... but now that so many "upscale" people have seen their 401s become 200.5s  I think that "tune" (or "tude" as the kids would say) is due to change.

It feels really good to know that I've made the right choice with Neishloss. But this is only after making the grave mistake of contracting with Parker & Associates and basically choosing to sit out for about a year w/o writing business. I'm very new to the industry and I don't know nothin' from nothin'...:arghh: And I hate that I've had to go through experiencing the very loving ways of PA.

Do you have any suggestions or words of wisdom for a total newbie?? I've learned to have a lot of patience...but it's running thin...

Last month I resubmitted my paperwork with Neishloss and am just waiting for the green light. I won't start cheering until I'm out on appts and learning.
