a family member has had their insurance cancelled on their double wide because of a fire claim. They do not have a conventional loan on the property and live in the home (it is owner financed). They had Lloyds of London. Any ideas on where they could get coverage on it? The sellers that are holding the note cannot get it insured either because they had prior claims on some other properties that are rented and Allstate will not extend them coverage on any other properties for a period.

So they had it with Lloyds & Lloyds cancelled them? You could shop the current owners with foremost, american modern etc as a rental property & your family could get standard ho4 renters insurance...

but if they have lloyds & were termed.....well....to the state FAIR plan they go.

I would try foremost they usually will write with a lapse in coverage. American modern at least in MI will not write if they have a lapse in coverage.
