Negotiating with Hospital?

My insurance (PIP) is the process of working out an agreement with the hospital for my bill that is currently $130k bill to pay around $80k.

How likely is it that hospitals settle for less? Also, any idea how long this process may take?

My insurance is trying to pay them 80K and use other funds from my policy-limit for other bills I owe.

this is something you need to ask a corporate lawyer who deals with hospitals and insurance companies. an insurance agent would have no idea.

Eh, hospitals make deals. They make deals all the time.

The real question is whether or not the hospital you're dealing with will accept the deal you have to offer them. You could come out of the gate and make them an offer, they'll say yes or no.
