Netquote Leads And Final Expense

I bought a batch of leads from NetQuote for Final Expense. The leads are $3. NetQuote asks you to put a $100 "on account" and when they send leads your way, they deduct $3 a pop. I understand that I will be sharing each lead with 2 other agents; so, I know I better get my butt on the phone ASAP when they come in. They don't start until August 18th, because I will be away, returning on August 16th and I don't want them to "fester" in my email. I know you all probably know this. I'll let you know how it goes.

I just wrote my first app, yesterday, using a Netquote lead (Med Supp). Took me roughly $125 in leads before closing my first one. I asked the lady how many agents had contacted her, she told me at least 8.

Tins, that's fantastic...you won the sale where 8 OTHER AGENTS couldn't do it! You must feel GREAT!

If I get even ONE sale from the 100, then it will be worth it!

Exactly how I look at it, too. I don't even think about Netquote as a lead source. I only receive leads in 3 zip codes (within 5 miles of where I live) which equals about 4 Netquote leads per month. If I make anything from them I consider it gravy. Spend most of my time cold calling to sell. That's how I make my real income.

Tins, why such a small radius?

I've found in my limited dealings with people looking for quotes online, they tend to be more receptive to talking when I tell them I live right down the block.
I had way too many people (seniors) tell me they'd prefer a local agent when I targeted other areas of the state. Also, like I said, I don't really consider them a lead source. Just a nice little something extra that pops up once in a while.
