New Agent Question

Unfortunately my advice would be to find other employment. You need money too fast. I've talked to many past agents of BLC and was trained by BLC managers. You will most likely make somewhere near $20k your first year. You will not get fresh leads. Your leads are a list of numbers. Here in FL you will be trained to set appointments based on "changes in Medicare" and then try to cross sell Final expense, LTCi and annuities. Their products are over priced and you aren't vested until year 5 I believe.

Run, don't walk. Believe me when I tell you that within 2-3 months you will make little sales and eat through your savings. Eventually leaving BLC only to be in the same situation as now, except with even less money.

Damn, 20k a year.. How does anyone even start with that? Its sad to hear they have over priced plans because that would directly effect me. Thank you very much for your feedback. I think it is pretty clear this is not a good option for me at this point. I will give the manager a call tomorrow and see if I can squeeze some info out from him.

Keep the feedback coming though =)

Most Wendy's employees make more than the average new Bankers agent. No joke.

The manager will claim that they have top quality products and their med supps aren't the lowest price because they pay claims faster, have lower premium increases, are 'A' rated,...blah blah blah, I've heard it all. All med supps are created equal and the ONLY difference is the price you're going to pay.

So, when you get in to the house, first you have to lie and convince them that your Med Supp is bettter. Then, when that's accomplished you have to suck them dry with over priced LTCi and FE.

2 weeks later, they get a call from another agent who replaces it all with lower premiums.

Go to scams.com and go under "insurance scams" and click on the bankers thread. Good info there

Thank you everyone for all the support. I decided to drop the insurance career and find something more suitable. I really appreciate the info because if i jumped into this and made no money, I would be devastated. I will apparently pursue a job offering at CarMax. Thanks again everyone.

Good luck! I would probably be selling cars if I weren't doing what I do.

I hope I didn't make you feel like you can never make $ in insurance. You can. It's just not a get rich quick business. Its a career that takes time to build and when you do you have a steady flow of residuals hitting your account every month plus new commissions.

Good luck in your endeavor!

You are making the right decision. Don't rule out insurance future wise but not with BLC.

Don't go to bankers!!! Research them online and observe what the agents there are making. Trust me on this one. It will be a huge mistake at your expense.
