Hi everyone!
I just opened a new insurance brokerage, which will be focused primarily in the Medicare Advantage space.
However, I'm having a hard time figuring out my upline structure.
In general, all of my agents will be independent to start, mainly because I know MOST independent agents are better salespeople, and I know I can fill their day with endless high-quality consumer-initiated inbound calls (my core business is a large media agency, it's what we do).
Knowing this, I would opt to consider myself an IMO (so I get the override)
But, as an IMO, am I then able to contract with an FMO? Or am I forced to go direct to carrier?
I also intend on covering all marketing expenses associated with generating the calls, in case that matters one way or another.
Any advice and insight would be greatly appreciated!
Ethan
