Good Morning, and Happy New Year!!

First off, I want to thank this forum for all of the wonderful tips, comments, and sales strategies ive picked up along the way. I was a Captive agent/mgr 12yrs ago but now i'm independent. I had a pretty rough november and december. I had already ordered leads, then i start reading posts and found out that most of you take these months off. Since i'm new i worked, but with little success. My question is this? Should i expect the same results in Jan as i did in dec? (people not home) Thanks for your answers in advance!

My work year consists of 12 months. A lot of us work the months of November and December and have success. Whether you are calling for appointments or door knocking I believe you will always have to deal the with two factors:

1. Some people will invariably not answer the phone at times so you will need to keep calling.

and

2. If you are door knocking some people will invariably not be home so you will have to constantly drop by and door knock at different times.

I bought zero leads this month did 3x better compared to last December, working referrals, doing follow-ups, re-signing lapses.

January's going to be an incredible month. Work your arse off.

Now my next question? For most of the country, the major holidays are over, however, i'm in louisiana (new orleans) and Mardi Gras is coming up. Not sure how to handle this since most of the streets are blocked off, and most of the people are celebrating. Is there anyone that has worked louisiana during mardi gras? I'd also like some input even if you haven't worked this area.

Just work through it if you can't prospect in areas that party less during Mardi Gras.

Certainly not everyone will be partying 24/7 -- you'll catch 'em if you work it.

i don't use leads. but my passion is the one that put me in front of people. They become my client or they don't. go to the next.
