New To Insurance Need Some Advice Please?

Northwestern Mutual IS the cream de la crop. It however seems they do not want just any agent anymore. I have a very sucessful friend (writes 85 to 125 thousand ap per year) he was told by the local NML GA that he needed 12 to 36 months of his current income saved up in the bank (or under his mattress) to qualify for a special agents contract. Although currently affiliated with AIG he said he would look elsewhere.

I got hired to work for North Western Mutual here in LA. I was very impressed with their company and I think it would have been a great career move, BUT had a couple things in past that did meet their background check.
