Does Anyone have info on why Anthem is stopping Call centers from selling their plans across the country starting 11/15/2024?

I run a insurance company out of boca, We do ACA and MEDICARE ADV. We just found out yesterday that TELESALES for ANTHEM/ELEVANCE are no longer allowed... They will all be non commissionable sales starting tomorrow...

Does Anyone have any further info on this?

I just logged into Mproducer and see absolutely nothing stopping me from selling any plans over the phones - are you sure you didn't just lose your contract or something?

This is a nightmare...

Caveat, not an agent.

First, it seems to me there is a fact or logic problem internal to your statement.

I don't think "... telesales ... are no longer allowed..." is the same as "... they [some carrier plans] will all be non commissionable sales starting tomorrow... ".

I also found it amusing when, following vic's clue, I searched online, using the term " Anthem stopping telesales".

This morning (11/15/24 -- say sometime mid morning) when I did that, my first hit was an Insurance Forums thread less than a day old with the title -- you guessed it -- of this thread.

The second hit was a reddit thread from Switzerland titled : "How do I stop receiving calls from insurance companies?"

Yeah, it’s true. Anthem/Elevance is shifting away from telesales and making them non-commissionable. Seems like they’re focusing more on in-person or broker-driven sales instead. It’s a huge blow to those of us who rely on telesales. Definitely a tough adjustment for a lot of agencies.

Proof? I have seen nothing on this and our regional manager emailed us today about big push for second half of aep, no mention of plans going non-commissionable or telesales being disallowed.

GEICO stopped all telesales several years ago for auto insurance in some states. Farmers bought
Met Life and then shut most of it down 2.5 years later. What does this have in common with Anthem? THEY DON"T WANT THE BIZ! This is what carriers do-they drop commissions, make it almost impossible to write, change UW-which MAPD can't do....

Baloney. I got telemarketer calls from gieco many times, In fact I got 2 yesterday

I really don't know, Apparently the CEO of Anthem told our Upline they are no longer paying out tele sales from independent agency's that its not just an us thing that this will be country wide. I was hoping someone knew more than I did.
