Okay folks. i got a job offer.

but now i have to GET READY for this position.

also he is telling me that:

"Your pay is based on your background check, licenses and experience. We will go over the formula in detail before you are credentialed and allowed on the floor"

I just hope and pray that I don't get anything below $11 per hr or minimum wage. that would suck

but thanks to everyone. if you dudes have any advice that would help please don't hesitate

You should have asked him to be more specific and at least give you an idea.

I used to be a State Farm Agent and here are a few questions I would ask if I was in your position. Who is going to pay for you to become licensed? In my state, it cost about $1,000 to obtain the two licenses (Life & Health and Property & Casulty). It will take you about a month to pass both of these test. Are you going to be paid during that month? As for your experience, he already knows what that looks like after interviewing you. Again, he should be able to give you an idea of what your base hourly wage will be.

My Team were all paid an hourly wage, plus commissions and monthly Team bonuses that were based on goals for the Agency. I hope this helps you a little bit.

In any job interview you go to, the key is to ask good questions. You should be interviewing them. It is just like selling insurance - you ask the quesitons and let them answer. Then ask a follow up question and always clarify to make sure you are on the same page.

Good questions are a sign of intelligence be it in school, on a date, sales call, job interview, etc...

If you want some specific questions to ask, I can help you out. Let me know -

Good Luck!

Wait a second - I just went to this guys State Farm website and was shocked to see that he is an attorney. Why would you go to law school, join the Navy, become part of JAG, pass the BAR Exam and then become a State Farm Agent? That does not make any sense to me.

He started with State Farm in 2008, which means he is on the AE05 contract. On that contract, he might not be making $11.00 an hour.

Ask him why he went to law school to become a State Farm Agent? Next, ask him why he read to AE05 contract and still signed it. Obviously, contract law is not his strong suit.

V E R Y S T R A N G E!!!

The secret formula is that hiding behind that big shot St Farm agent mask is a tight assed con artist. :1arghh:
