No Experience In Ins. My Journal

I don't know what you are trying to get at but bottom line is that it's far more effective for me to call and set appointments. if someone wants to be a door to door salesman then good for them. It's not for me.

When I quit my first job in ins with AmGen it was because they were talking about having us go doorknock and also having "call night" where they stood over you and supervised your prospecting calls. I told them I was doing neither and was told during the hiring process that was not to expected.

While looking for a job one of the places I interviewed was at Westen and Southern Life. On the 2nd interview the guy asked me why I left AGLA and I told him they were wanting me to doorknock and they were going to start having call night. He said they did call night too. I thanked him for the warning and got up and left.

The way I do things obviously works for me. If you have a problem with that then that is your problem.

Just giving u a hard time bruh, nothing more, lol! I know u prefer to make appts & do very lil door knocking... But it's funnier to say it's beneath you, lol!

I do doorknock and I sold a couple of pretty nice sized policies this week from doorknocking but it is not my preferred way to work.

JD is killer on the phone and resists being on the porch unless it's a last ditch effort.

You guys need to communicate a little better.

Wow, Im really enjoying reading peoples experiences.

Since my last post I have contracted/signed on with Foresters, Americo, and Assurity. Im looking to add more in the future.

I need to get E&0 insurance and I was thinking of purchasing it for $500. This is alot of money for me but it seems like a fair price for an independent agent. Ive been reading thru the E&O section of this website for ideas. Im making some good progress and I will continue to update.

You don't need E&O for all companies. I'm contracted with 4(RNA, Trans/Monu, UHL, and MoO) and I don't have it. Granted I will get it eventually. Just am trying to keep my initial start up costs down.

If you are signed on with Foresters, they have a group plan with CalSurance for $427/year (Feb-Feb). The will Pro-rate your coverage year and renew in Feb. For April enrollment the cost is $363.64.
