No Luck on Phones Advice on Door to Door

So far in the independent side of the house, I am not having much luck with selling or scheduling appointments over the phone. I am getting leads and have a script going but I either get flaky people over the phone, bad leads with fake names and numbers and getting beat by some other agent in contacting them 1st.

I was thinking of standing in a shopping center parking lot or going door to door talking to people. What can I say to someone once I meet with them in person in order to get an interest or appointment set? I do not want to seem desperate in person or get shut down every time I would say something that is soliciting. Any advice on a good script or first couple of lines to say in person? I was thinking a couple of hours in the morning on door to door B2B or maybe house to house. Goal of maybe talking to 30-40 people a day. Any advice?

Have you given any thought to buying leads? Where is your upline manager? Is he helping you? Or did you take a bigger commission contract because you don't need help getting going?

I've seen more agents die on the vine because they jump to completely independent to quickly. Rarely works.

I'll echo Newby, you need to find yourself a good trainer. What are you selling and where are you located?

I do have leads coming from him but most of them is either fake names and numbers or people that have been talked to already.

If you feel like posting your script i'd love to give you feedback on it. I've seen people who have never done this before get sales and do really well, so that's the only thing I can think of that you might be lacking. It really is crucial to phone sales to have a well written script and well versed rebuttals. Are you confident on the phone?
Don't give up, we all do bad sometimes but things will get better :)
 
I dont think the issue is my script...the issue is getting fake leads with fake names and phone numbers. Also the issue is calling the lead and someone has talked to them already...that is the issue....I had a buddy of mine that actually went prospecting yesterday, he said he went B2B on small business owners. His only script was that he said if anyone was paying too much for health insurance. Apparently it did work for him as he got a couple of good leads out of it. So I was thinking on approaching people and asking if they are paying too much for health or life insurance instead of being straight forward saying if they have health or life insurance. What do you guys think?

Sounds like your mgr. is giving you free, old, recycled leads.
