Obaba-Sebelius Plan is Up

The much hyped Obaba-Sebelius health care reform proposal has been posted.

Of course it is just a proposal. One that was not well received by Pelosi and company and would still have to make it through both houses to become law.

Also, before Washington could have that kind of wide ranging power to intercede on premium increases, McCarran-Ferguson would have to be repealed.

I predict snowfall in Hell before either of these occur.

Loss ratio's could be in the fine print. This is just a summary.

Or it could be a complete oversight.

Considering Sebelius was insurance commissioner before HHS it could just be that she failed to understand that role either.

The whole things stinks and the principals of "the squeeze" and take over are still very present.

This passes, it is not over - only the beginning.

Interesting read. He basically split the differences that he wanted to talk about and decided that was his proposal.

Obaba is playing arbitrator, not leader. Problem is, he is only arbitrating 2 sides (house dems and senate dems) when he has at least 4 sides he should be working with. He is obviously counting on doing this with a simple majority.

Devil is in the details. Problem is, this proposal doesn't fix the issues. I love reading how this will reduce the cost. It doesn't, it shifts costs around.
