I'm not too positive but according to most state laws it is when the fetus can live outside the womb.

So you will agree that "when life starts" gets earlier and earlier as technology saves younger and younger pre-mature babies.

Adoption is the solution to the child who is born to a mother that can't afford to take care of the child. Abortion is punishment of the child, for the mistakes of the mother. Having said that, most women who have abortions later feel a deep sense of guilt for having had their child put to death.

What I find remarkable are the number of young Americans who can't have children, and have been forced to go to the third world (at great expense) to adopt children because of the shortage of such kids here at home.

Who's law determines when something "is" and when it "is not"?
What if there are differing or conflicting laws?
Which law is more applicable "historical", "Current", "Future"?
Does "Life" rely on written or spoken law to exist?
Do we seek to define "Life" for our own advantages?

And a thought more... Most generally we cannot convince someone of what they do not believe, but to this end we must also acknowledge that something is not true base on our believing it.

Therefore... Truth at its core is Truth regardless of how we feel about, how we think about it or how we seek to change, influence, define, or hide it. Truth stands on its own, weather it is acknowledged or not.

Then what is life... somehow I think that definition should be left to the one who created it.

Who's law determines when something "is" and when it "is not"? well in our society we follow the laws we have, doesn't mean everyone agrees with them
What if there are differing or conflicting laws? what do you mean? like state by state basis? It wouldn't matter

Do we seek to define "Life" for our own advantages?I think abortion actually benefits society in some ways. Unwanted children born into bad situations are more likely to have mental health issues or be criminals
