OHIO - Health Insurance Question!

60 year old male with pre-existing (open heart surgeries in the last few years, last one 6 months ago).... Cobra runs out the end of December.

How does he get Health Insurance?

If he gets employed at lets say Costco/Starbucks/Home Depot - whatever - will he automatically be eligible for benefits? Or will the pre-existing keep him from being eligible?

Ohio Open Enrollment is open for business again in January. You might want to try that. Also..HIPAA plans are available.

Both-very expensive.

He should be good to go on group plans.

Group plans might have a waiting period - so you could consider a short term plan. Or contact the ODI and see who is taking high risk individuals who are not otherwise insurable.
