I think you left a 1 or a 2 off the beginning of that rate quote?? If not, I've NEVER heard of a disability med supp costing that much.
If that rate quote is correct, you can expect underwriting to be VERY strict As in, if this lady can't run the mile in under 5 minutes, she is declined.
If I'm not mistaken she works in Pennsylvania. I found this from a Pennsylvania insurance agency....
"What makes Pennsylvania unique is that insurance companies cannot charge higher rates for those under age 65.".....in reference to Medicare supplements.
I think she's correct about the rates.
Thank you Russ, you are correct! Guys I'm serious.. this lady will possibly be accepted at that rate if she can make it through underwriting. And if you happened to have read an earlier post, the underwriter told me that she would be able to pass if her dr. will write a note stating the tumor was non cancerous, and if her blood clots are gone.
If she has given you accurate information and it is confirmed by her doctor then there is no reason why the policy won't be issued.
The rates you quoted are consistent with the premium companies charge for Med Supp policies in PA. For example, Gerber, Through age 65, non tobacco, zip codes 155, 157-188, 195-196 a Plan D would be $87.65 and a Plan F would be $103.42.
It sounds like she may live in one of the above listed zip codes. She is going to want to put you on her Christmas list. Good job, that is what working the senior market is all about. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy doesn't it when you can help someone like her.
