Has anyone ever done an email campaign from one of those email opt-in brokers? I know the open rates and the rates of people that click through would be really low but so is the campaign prices...My main concern is making sure I don't run amuck of Can-spam and isp problems...So has anyone else tried an email campaign. did you get any results?

We provide consumer emails and yes, they work when done right. Imagine sending 30,000 emails to households around your agency - how cost effective is that?

Shoot me a pm if interested and we can provide email addresses or handle your campaign from start to finish.

The paramaters of the Can Spam Act are easy to follow...

1) Include an opt out device, including a physical address.
2) Indicate in the body of the email that it is a commercial advertisement.
3) Refrain from deceptive subject lines.

I tried it @ two years ago and failed miserably. After researching various companies and list providers, I chose a company that claimed it had conducted email blasts for major companies.

The emails were sent to people who had double opt-in and so I didn't feel they were spam.

My campaign had a headline which offered to SAVE UP TO 70% on life insurance. It included a picture of a nice family and told about the need for life insurance.

Here were the numbers:

40,000 emails per week.
28,000 emails confirmed
7 replies

(That reply number is correct).

I did this 4 straight weeks and the results were the same.

Because it was over two years ago, I'm not real sure on the numbers but I believed I spent $700 per week.

If anyone has had success with email blasts for life insurance, I'm all ears.

Spam might work if you are royalty from Nigeria, or offering pills to enhance your sexual prowess or nude pictures of Britney Spears. Beyond that, I am not convinced they do much good.

This *** "Jim Burgos" <[email protected]> is one of the most abusive spammers on the Internet. He does not have opt-in email lists. He "illegally" sends out spam to people that have never requested to be contacted. He sends out the same email to the same people dozens of times each week.

He doesn't even follow his own advice since he does not have an "unsubscribe" in his email. Even if you call his number and leave a message to be taken off his list he still keeps sending you emails.

He has been reported to gmail abuse, the FTC at [email protected] and Spam Cop. Do not buy anything from this jerk!! Hopefully he will go away and leave us alone. If you have an email address listed on The Insurance Forums you probably receive spam from him already. Make sure to report him too!!!

This guy "deedata" is a spammer who does not follow any of the Can-Spam Act regulations. He does not have an opt-in list. He harvests emails illegally.

He has been reported to gmail abuse, the FTC and Spam Cop. If you have your email published on the Insurance Forums I am sure you have already received his spam. Make sure to let him know how you feel by contacting the same agencies we have (listed above). The FTC is the most effective way of getting him to stop. Email [email protected] to let them know.
