I like dealing with them, and have never had a complaint. They only have a B+ + rating. They're getting into the Medicare Supplement business(they bought National States business a couple of years ago, but are now coming out with their own brand). Owned by the U-Haul company.

Thanks for the info - once I heard it had a B++ rating I thought I should check on them before moving forward. So your clients don't respond negatively at the rating?

They were actually in the Medicare Supplement business for a long while. They administer for quite a few blocks and also own North American Insurance, Christian Fidelity and Dallas General. They sold under the Oxford Life name about 10 years ago as well.

As far as their final expense, I use them for all my healthy clients. No worries about their B++ rating. They were Wards Top 50 for 3 years in a row and their Standard Analytical report is great. From what they told me, the only reason they were downgraded 10ish years ago was because of Uhaul filing for bankruptcy to reorganize debt. They are separate from Uhaul but under the Amerco umbrella of companies so they took the negative impact despite having nothing to do with it. Their financials trump many A rated companies so I am comfortable with them....they are in my town too so I have been to the office several times and met everyone there.
