P & C Broker in GA

I'm very new with forum. I'm about to take the P & C licence exam in GA. My question is: Once I passed the exam, do I have to work through a P &C broker or I can start by my own by appointment direct with carriers? which way is better? I think I better work under a broker so I can get trained ? Do you have any advice to me? By the way, anyone knows any good P & C broker in GA, please advice me. I appreciate for any input!
