So we're in the conference room hitting the beer and playing
cards and the phone rings:

Rose = R
Me = m

R: Gordon, I called Wellcare and they said they don't do business with Kreisler Pharmacy.
m: Did yo....
r: So I told them to cancel and I'll just stay with CCrx...
m: Did you call Kreisler and ask them if they take Wellcare?
r: no... Wellcare said...
m: Rose!!!
r: yes
m: call the pharmacy and ask
r: ok
m: bye

ring ring ring

r: They take it... why did Wellcare say they didn't.
m: dunno
r; well... I'll just keep my CCRx
m; ok... buy
r; bye

then I got to thinking... she was issued wellcare. that means ccrx is canceled per cms

ring ring

r; hello
m; rose, if you told wellcare to cancel you might be messed up
r; why?
m; you enrolled in wellcare and it was issued, that means more than likely ccrx is canceled by medicare... you can only have one pdp
r; i didn't tell ccrx to cancel
m; yes you did... by enrolling in wellcare
r; dang
r; what do i do
m; I dunno... call wellcare and try to fix it
r; ok
m; bye

ring ring

r; I think I got it fixed
m; good.. happy new yearz
r; you to
m; bye
r; bye

ANYONE IN SOUTH KC NEED A CLIENT?

I'm so glad i didn't mess with PDP 's this year, it saved me a bunch of headaches.

Dumping the PartD charade was the best thing I've done in a longtime. Nothing, but, Roses for me. I now have a clear path for 2010 by notifying and teaching my "Rose's" how to fish for PartD's. Step one completed! Mission accomplished!!!

I don't have to fight with PartD carriers to get plans issued for 20 bucks comp. And I don't have to screw with stupid SCOPES for 20 bucks. And Rose, well, she still got her PartD plan.

THINK WIN WIN, DONT YA LUV IT!!!!

;););)

Most of us all try to give something back to the communities where we live. I for one don't belong to any service club. I figure the 100 to 150 hours of free Part D help I do per year qualifies me for a free pass.

MedX, I agree with you. As a good agent, we should help seniors with their PDP's even if it works out to about 1 dollar per hour! :goofy:

Is it that high ?

If you only look at PDP commissions it seems we're getting ripped... and we are, but if you also take into account the sales opportunities realized then it gets more substantial. We picked up ~30-35 medsupps from folks that called/stopped by for PDP assistance. Last year we picked up ~40-45. That's commissions of $200-330/person/year that we got all year long.

Speaking of PDP's, I got a telephone call Tues the Dec 28th from one of my Med supp clients. She lives in Happy Camp, Ca. She refused Part D back in 2006 and now she wants to enroll. I explained the penalty. She wasn't taking anything then and now she takes 3 brands and one generic. I had her read me her list of meds. I ran her meds through the Medicare Find/Compare prog. Here is the problem. Only one pharmacy in her town. I kept having a problem finding a Part D card that used her pharmacy. In frustration, I googled the pharmacy telephone # and called. Guess who answered the tele? The pharmacist. He explained to me that most of the 47 Part D card reimburse less that his cost, except for 3. The pharmacist was really a nice guy. We chatted for 15 minutes or so about Part D and health care reform. I guess he wasn't too busy. He then asked me, " Do you sell Medicare supplements?". He was turning 65 in March 2010. His individual Anthem Blue Cross plan was costing him $700+ per month. I now had a good lead for a supp!
Now, back to my client. The 3 Part D cards that used her local pharmacy were way too expensive. She elect the best card of the 47(I was not an agent) and would use mail order. Any immediate Rx's, if they were cheap, she would fill them locally. If they were expensive, she would drive to a pharmacy in Yreka (78 miles) and fill them. I enrolled her electronically through Medicare's web site. I called my client to tell her I electronically enrolled her.
Her is the funny.
She asked me,
"Will I have my Id card next week?":D

I find most of that hard to believe.......And lets say you have someone on a MOO supp and you roll them to a UCT supp or a Gerber supp. For example lets say you were already getting paid 15% by MOO and now you are getting 23% by Gerber. Technically you only gained 8%. Of course you now have commissions lined up again for 6yrs of good renewals but if your operating the way you do your going to roll them into a cheaper plan long before that anyways. How much are you really making when you look at it all honestly. Kibbles and Bits......Kibbles and Bits....I dont want no kibbles and bits and I retired from the "drug plan scene" this year and it was the best thing I ever did. No regrets and best of all no working for Kibbles and Bits!:1arghh:
