Pet Life Insurance Policy

How to Sell Pet Insurance: Getting Started

"A pet life insurance policy covers end-of-life costs for your animal. This can include burial or cremation expenses and even bereavement counseling."

I had no idea this was even a thing. Yes, you need a P&C license to sell it in most states.

No idea how much it costs to lay your pet to rest and for counseling?

Seems like a carrier money grab.

Having look at pet health insurance before I know they have more holes than swiss cheese. Lot's of weasel language to avoid paying the claim.

I don't see why this would be any different.

The last pet I had put down costs around $600 if I recall correctly, maybe a bit more. Cremation around $150 (no urn).

I have cried over every dog that has died but never had counseling.

Plus, how do you get the pet to put their Tramp paw stamp on the application to consent to be insured & can you list Lady as the beneficiary without insurable interest.

I have 5 or 6 goldfish I am looking to insure as I know I will need counseling if we lose them in a toilet accident[/QUOTE]

Geez, I can only imagine what kind of a client needs an insurance policy for a $750 loss. No thank you.
