Ppc Work

you can try google adwords, you will get really quality traffic but the price is big, in opposite way there are other networks but less quality traffic

health agent, i have done the math and the commissions are beating the costs, but only by a smidgen. I'll continue as long as i'm not losing money. your post was very informative. thanks
emptyeternity, i dont know about bing, but i tried out facebook ppc for a while and then quit it. you get more clicks and traffic with facebook for less money than with google, but all of your traffic is nothing but window shoppers. no one is buying anything. when you compare that with google, where people are actively searching for your niche, it's no contest. google wins everytime if you're selling something. facebook only wins if your sole motivation is traffic/exposure.

one thing i forgot to mention about google adwords is that for people who are considering trying it out..... google will give you a pretty good test run if you are new to adwords. have your payments set up manually (pay as you want to), but only pay the minimum to activate the ads (which is $10). soon, you will either get an email or a letter in the mail for a $100 startup credit (i got both, but was only able to use one or the other).

that's a great deal! pay $10 to get $105 worth of adwords credit (minus a $5 activation fee). keep your bids low and you will go for a while on google's dime. at least long enough to decide if further investment is worthwhile. great for newer sites to get targeted traffic while they endure the long process of climbing the seo ladder.

oh, and that reminds me... Alston! come in Alston! eager to hear your thoughts about my previous question.

Alston is smart to not put all his expenses in one basket. A lot of the advice on PPC advertising is good, however just a little is lacking.

For PPC use a long keyword phrase such as this one: Buy Maryland Medicare Supplement, you might get the phrase for 5 or 10 cents. Then after researching, you might use: Purchase Baltimore affordable health insurance, etc.

Tip: Take action words frequently used on the internet include these: top, affordable, information, buy, purchase, get, find, want and many more.

Do not forget TRUE inexpensive SEO which can last for 5 years in driving in traffic.

Consider even using Craigslist for virtually no cost.

Google: add insurance link (I noticed one of my sites in the top ten, but currently we are not taking any) On this remember reciprocal links will not help your Google ranking, but could increase traffic. Never ever pay for a link. Never put your link on a FFA (free for all link).

If this forum would allow me, I could show you many free ways to promote more business to you. Every time, I try some *** thinks I am advertising - which I am not, so it gets pulled. One of those idiots is going to pay when he sees his ranking jump back.

Not Alston---he is a great guy.

For those that know me, you will see I have a Pandora box of free ways. Just try to get the forum mods to understand.

Alston,
pardon me for being nosey, but I am very curious as to why you still spend several grand a month on PPC, while you come up at the top as far as SEO organic search is concerned?
I guess what I'm asking is..... why spend that kind of money to be at the top when you're already at the top at no cost?
I'm not trying to snoop, just trying to understand the logic, as I'm new to this online insurance marketing business.

I don't spend very much on PPC to promote my agency. I bid very low on most terms. I cherry pick.

I only have one full time agent (my son) and have no current desire to hire other agents. There is a limit to how hard we want to work that business and we have reached that limit.

I also generate leads for other agents (indirectly -- I'm an affilliate). This business is much more scalable. For most lines, I can sell as many leads as I can generate.

That's why I do both PPC and SEO. I don't spend a lot of time on PPC any more. I make more per hour working on the SEO side, but I set up most of my PPC campaigns 4 to 6 years ago and have over time refined my keyword lists and campaigns.

Investing time creating new campaigns (at least for the insurance vertical) is not a good use of my time. (Neither is spending so much time on this forum. Just don't tell my wife you saw me. LOL.)

However, tweaking my existing campaigns still makes sense.
