Preparing For 2015 Open Enrollment

If you think about it, most of the work last year for 1/1 effective dates were done between 11/23 and 12/24. That's when the majority of my business was written. I doubt we will have the trouble we had last year. Will there be bumps, absolutely. Will we run off the road and into the ditch, burst on fire with the doors locked...likely not. What will cause the most concern right now is getting those passwords set back up after HC erased them in April.

I am going to reach out to my clients and ask them to reset the passwords before 11/15. That way it will be smoother when we renew the subsidy and check new plans if any. My main carrier said that CMS was trying to encourage updating your subsidy, but not so much switching plans.

Yes, window shopping
No, on network or formulary searches
No, on hosting changes

'Window shopping' for ObamaCare in the works | TheHill

ObamaCare's main online sign-up portal will allow customers to "window shop" for health plans before the start of open enrollment, according to a top official.

But one feature will reportedly still be missing: the ability to compare plan coverage of doctors, hospitals and drugs with ease.

HealthCare.gov Still Won't Show Whether Your Doctor's Covered | The Daily Caller

The Obama administration’s newly appointed HealthCare.gov CEO is optimistic about the website’s ability to function this fall, but admits that customers still won’t be able to tell what doctors and hospitals are covered on exchange plans.

This time, Counihan reports that 25 major insurers have tested HealthCare.gov’s operations and have been pleased. All insurers will be able to test the website starting October 7, Bloomberg reports.

HealthCare.gov keeps Verizon as lead Web host for now | Modern Healthcare

The CMS has put off plans to switch to Hewlett-Packard Co. as the lead Web hosting vendor for HealthCare.gov. Instead, it's extended its contract with Verizon Communications' Terremark Worldwide subsidiary for the role. HP and one of its subcontractors will instead serve in supporting roles.

The more confusing and incomplete the info is at hc.gov, the greater the need for knowlegable advisors..Like US!

Now if only someone would tell that to all of the clients. :goofy:

Well UNIC, www.HealthCare.gov underwent a face-lift over the last 24 hours. It looks more complicated than ever. They're trying to pacify first time 2015 enrollees, and SEP enrollees, and 2014 enrollees transitioning to 2015 plans, all at the same. It's easier than ever to end up totally lost within the ever-growing maze of HealthScare.gov pages. As I said earlier, that's good for us, UNIC.

So, to look at 2014 plans and rates for SEP, you must

1. click the small link (in the photo) that says, "You may still be able to get coverage for the rest of 2014. Learn more."

2. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the embedded link in the last paragraph that says, "See 2014 plans and price estimates before you apply with an SEP. You can preview plans and estimated prices that apply only to 2014 coverage you can get with an SEP. 2015 plans and prices will be available soon."

The difficulty in finding 2014 rates is on purpose. They don't want people thinking they are looking at 2015 numbers
