Preparing For 2015 Open Enrollment

I didn't say HC.gov, I just said quoting from any source......HS, ACA, value penguin, ehealth, norvax, quoteit........the chinese gov't

I guarantee we will have ON exchange quoting by Nov 15th.

My question is, who will have OFF exchange quoting on Nov 15th????

which WBE's will offer OFF exchange? Will we have to go to carriers directly?

BCBSTX swears we will have it on the 15th.

So it will probably be the 20th :)

Maybe someone finally explained the phrase "under promise/over deliver" to them and they wised up?

Maybe they figured out that shortening the OEP would limit how many could enroll?

Nevermind. I'm expecting way too much.

More important than 30% less total enrollees, is the fact that they are now looking at a third to a fifth the amount of new enrolls and expecting their 3-year ramp up to 25M to take 4-5 years.

Don't forget, there's been nearly a million members lost this year for various attrition reasons, and about a million more set to lose subsidy eligibility due to not providing requested proof. If you ask me, their new numbers are optimistic.

With an extra year or two to hit their goal, the reinsurance programs might get a bit sticky. They were designed to last 3 years to help get carriers through this period, if it takes longer than expected, it's not hard to see how this can cause an issue.

RE: HHS: Expect fewer ObamaCare sign-ups | TheHill

Fewer Enrollees = U.S. Treasury pays out less money in Subsidies.
Fewer Enrollees = Insurers receive less money in Premiums.

The money/budget people in the Government (not the political people) must be happy that cash outflow will be reduced, since Obama has unilaterally delayed several income generating aspects of the Affordable Care Act.

Has anyone ever seen estimates of how many healthy enrollees each insurer needs to offset 1 expensive chronically ill enrollee? As Ray pointed out, this healthy-to-sick target number will be very critical in the next two years, as the Insurance "bail-out" funding is dialed back, as scheduled.

As interesting as this might be it means nothing to me right now-I have complete tunnel vision focused on taking care of my existing client base over a 30 day enrollment period with a major holiday right in the middle.

It's funny how the concept of having to make almost your entire years' income in a 30 day period focuses the brain on the issues at hand, doesn't it?:yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

What's the over/under on the enrollment period getting extended?

I lost that bet last year.

This year, it really needs to. The subsidy crowd is going to get their refund, it will be lowered doe to non-compliance and then they are going to want coverage when they get told the fine for next year. And if its after 2/15, they are out of luck.

The next 30 days is going to be nuts.

A lull between 12/15 and 1/15

Then another nutso month between 1/15 and 2/15.
