Proof of Estimated Income ?

I got a few clients who are getting requests for "sending in proof of your estimated income" for 2014.

Problem is some clients have little to no income proof, as many are self employed or working cash jobs.

Anyone else getting this requests for their clients?

There are many out there. Self employed will likely have to submit P&L statements through the most recent month.

I wonder if they will report this income, to pay minimal taxes on it, so they can actually keep/get a subsidy.

Financially speaking, it likely would make more sense, especially if in a Medicaid expansion state. Get yourself to 159% and get the real rich CSR plans.

Yes and after having called the experts at hc.gov, they are submitting spreadsheets by month listing their income. P&L has not been required. Just the month and income.

These emails and letters have been going out to everyone who had a requirement to be met on their subsidy eligibility determination.

I've posted about this and what I've found out along the way.

Regardless if the client has already submitted info for proof EVERYONE is receiving these correspondences.

I've called Goodluck.gov regarding the matter and have been told that the clients in question have notices that the information was accepted even though the marketplace account isn't updating as it should.

However, when in doubt make sure that the client has supplied the requested information. That's all you can really do at this point.
