Major damage done to my unit by a leaking toilet supply line in the unit above. Damage was created in the unit owned by the shareholder and not in the walls owned by the coop. Who is primary on claim?

Major damage done to my unit by a leaking toilet supply line in the unit above. Damage was created in the unit owned by the shareholder and not in the walls owned by the coop. Who is primary on claim?

I had this happen to me and the Co-op covered everything (also NYC).

The bathtub was left on and overflowed and we had water running down the light fixtures in our bedroom.

Not sure if they went after my upstairs neighbor for damages but it never even went to insurance on my end.
