I recently got my life license here in Florida and answered a couple of ads on Craigslist.
One was from Senior Life out of Thomasville,Ga and another from Lincoln Heritage.
The LH manager is Adam Hale. He's got his LH 1099,check stub blown up and pasted on CL ads down here in Fla.
Google CL Orlando/Sales...then Adam Hale in the search bar.
Rags to Riches baby !
Both managers were blowing a lot of smoke talking 90% closing ratio,100%issue rate, 90% persistancy,4-6 policies a week.
They wanted me to come to pep rally's so I could learn more.
I was in the home improvement business for 30 years before changing directions.
I always thought my industry was full of blow hards...jeeze !
I did my usual due diligence and decided to go indy out of the gate with a reputable IMO.
Any thoughts ? Similar experiences ?

May not want to put all your eggs in one basket. Having more than one IMO has a few more advantages. There are some guys on this forum that will offer you as good as you will get plus training.

Thoughts! Welcome to the forum! You are smart not to be sucked in by these outfits! Read and talk to some of the people on here and you will figure out what to do.

I replied to a couple of email solicitations with questions that challenge the big numbers they threw at me. I asked to see a 1040,lead costs...etc.
LH=TV leads are $ 41,mailers $ 35, and newspaper $ 25. I thought that was kind of high.
They'll finance the leads and you pay them back by them withholding 30% if your lead balance is under 1k,1-2k 40%,over 2k 50%.
They start you at 80% contract. On modified issue, they pay 60%,on debit/credit card they pay you 40%.
They would not discuss rates ?
They do not replace ?
I wonder why ?
I was also told that everybody get's approved !
It's easy enough to see that an agent can get buried in no time.

How do those numbers, system sound to a seasoned professional agent ?
Sound off !

Good luck going Indy. Both companies you mentioned are Leaders in FE. Actually Senior is founded by one of Lincolns best agents. That said. There pros and cons of going Indy. If you can find a mentor you will be well on your way. This business is not as simple as it looks and proper training will pay. If your IMO has someone close that you can ride with take advantage of it. One of the best operators in the industry told me the answer to success in FE is "see the people, see the people, see the people" Good Selling

Thanks Mark,it will be a challenge to get it going for sure.
Are you endorsing both of those companies as great places for agents to get contracted with ?

LH won't discuss rates because they are among the highest out there. They are a terrible company to deal with. Bottom of the barrel in my opinion. That 1099 BS they throw out there is just that, a bunch of BS.

They won't tell you how much they spent in lead costs to get that 1099 nor do they tell you that is not from personal production but from the back of other agents. LH is a good deal for the managers. Not for the producing agent or the clients.

Sr Life seems to be about as bad as LH but I don't as much about them.

As for the poster that said that they don't replace, that also is BS. They do replace. There a few states where LH or SL don't allow replacements because the laws in those states favor the clients. Ky is one of those states.

You know what they do there? They replace and lie on the application and say there was no replacement. I had that situation today with LH.

You are well advised to stay as far away as possible from those 2 companies.

If by leaders you mean highest priced, you would be correct. what a load.

Thanks JD.
Sounds like you have first hand experiences with their policies in the field on a regular basis.
Yeah,anybody can take a 1099, a typewriter,some white out and play tricks.
If I'm making a big six figure income like he posts,I'm smoking $50 cigars, playing lots of golf, hanging out in Vegas, and telling no one how much money I'm making or putting up my pay stubs,1099's on CL.
I'm curious to know why these two carriers seek agents with 'no experience',in their help wanted ads on CL,Glassdoor.
Everything with both of these companies seems to be a big secret ?
They want you to recruit too.
What's up with that ?
