Hmmmm. I guess Olympia Snowe, one of the Three Musketeers who previously sold out to Obama on the pork package is having a "Republican moment." Certainly has been a while.
And, it is inconceivable that one of the other Musketeers, Susan Collins, would ever have an action or thought separate from Snowe, so that makes two.
Yes, I know the Dems control the Senate but Snowe absolutely has cred and influence among moderates who are looking to move forward on some issues but do not want to face voters having supported unlimited spending. As discussed, most of them will arrive at that point sooner or later. My view anyway.
I am not saying Obama should worry but if he keeps his eyes on counterrevolutionary troop movements he damn well better watch out for this one. I spoke out vehemently against Olympia for supporting the pork package and still take points away from her for doing so. Neverthess that little walk on the wild side gave her some credibility with dems in tough times. Now that could backfire on Obama.
Not sure. Just saying if I were Obama I would have Rahm out there working full time to put this out before it flares up.
