Just an FYI - I also wanted to mention last time I rented a car and bought this, there was some other fine print that seems to VOID the CDW agreement:
1) If an unlisted driver is driving it
2) If you are driving off paved roads
3) If you are doing something illegal that causes the accident.

I hear #2 gets a lot of people in Hawaii. They want to go see the rainforests, volcanos, etc. and that red dirt is a dead giveaway.
 
I will always purchase the rental companies LDW.

I learned the hard way that my credit cards collision waiver does not cover loss of use or diminished value, both of which totaled more than the damage itself. Fortunately, I was able to negotiate both down significantly due to the extremely poor management of my claim. I won't bank on that happening again.
