Reputation Points on the Board

OK, a couple of questions...if you're still green...how do you know that someone gave you a bad mark?

And how do you guys get those state flags by your name?

Where was I when they explained all the techie stuff?

What's the point anyway - who really cares.

Just another way for someone to anonymously be a keyboard hero.

No techie stuff really..

To see who voted on your posts check your User CP and to set/change the flags click on Edit Options link.

not because what they said was good or bad

An who is the all-knowing arbiter of what's good and bad?

We've had some forum Nazis previously who felt that someone should be banned for not agreeing with their point of view. Kind of similar to the extreme right-wing nutcase religious zealots who forget that this is America.

Fortunately, Sam rejects that nonsense, as he should.

lol. Curiousity got the best of me and I took a look at your points...

u promised me 9 months advancing, gave me 6 and then lied about it. homeoffice said i should be at 9 months. I wish I knew you was a crook when I signed up with you. I want a release and you won't give it to me.

Oops.

I am proposing to the forum and the members that we get rid of the reputation points.

Even though I am and remain in the green I have noticed that it's too easy for someone to give you negative feedback over nothing. I've talked with many different agents/members that are experiencing the same thing. I personally know of an agent on here that has made someone mad over just one post yet he's gotten so many negative points just from one person (that has special access) that he'll never see green.

On the other side, some people get positive points just because they are friends with others, not because what they said was good or bad.

The other thing is when a new person comes on the board, they might see some great advice from a person but decide not to follow it or just blow it off because they notice the person is in the red.

Also, it has come to my attention that there are "special accounts" that some of the members have that allow multiple positive or negative points. In this case, if a person with one of these "special accounts" decides they don't like someone, they can give them all kinds of negative points and they never see green again. That's way too much control!!

Bottom line.....get rid of it!!

If you agree or disagree, please make your point known so something can be done/changed about this dilemma.
Thanks,

I have noticed that there are blue rep points -- What are those?

Also, the little phrases:

Can we get a list and the order they are received?

Ha, I like the reputation system !!!

Was reading some of your profiles and the comments are very telling, shame on some of you guys. Powerful tool, but remember with great power comes great responsibility.

Thanks for bringing this up, but I say keep it.
