RIP, Pete Rose

You bring up some good points, but Cooperstown is not a museum, or a history or retelling of the sport, it is a Hall of Fame. And Pete Rose brought shame to himself and baseball. He can certainly be in any of the several baseball museums in the country.
He did bring shame to himself and, to a small extent, baseball. No getting around that.

But he also brought glory and pride to baseball that far outweighs the bad.

In your mind he brought shame to baseball. For most of us he did what many of us had been doing all along and still do to this day. You think none of the players who are in Cooperstown ever bet on a ballgame? They all did most likely. Pete got caught, they didn't. Heck, Rob Manfred probably has a draftkings account.

Maybe, but please show your proof. Also keep in mind, if you read the Rule 21, the punishment would have been a 1-year ban. His real mistake was the coverup, lying for all those years.
