It is really quite putrid when you listen to the number of reps who are saying that Obama's pitch to them is that failing to cast a favorable vote will put his entire presidency at risk. I thought we were supposed to be looking at the merits of the plan or lack thereof.

Also, WTF do student loans have to do with health reform? Nevermind.

Well, perhaps there is some good in it - if it doesn't pass, will he resign?

Not so sure what he means by "at risk" but I think that as dopey as JoBiden is, he would appear to be Mr. Harmless as President.
 
When Bush wanted the PDP passed there were Republican holdouts in the House. The doors to the House were blocked and (R) members were not allowed to leave until they had enough "yes" votes.

One who changed his vote was Butch Otter of ID. He is now governor of Idaho and recently signed a law that threatens legal action if health insurance reform passes.
