Selling for Equita

I received a postcard from EFES regarding their program. I am planning to call them this week to get more information. I've read some of the posts on this forum and it all sounds good. I am concerned about the initial out of pocket cost before I even get the first lead.

1. will I be required to pay for the leads up front?

2. What is the minimum number of leads allowed?

3. Are the leads credited if no good?

These are just a few questions I have before calling them. I'll appreciate your response.

Here's the short answer: You will be required to pay for leads every week- period. They will get you the number of leads you ask for- at least eventually. You pay for your first order up front along with some other BS. Depends on your "mng" but it's around $750.

Leads are credited if the address is a po box and the phone number is missing. That's about it.

Leads aren't bad- they're like anyone elses.

Thanks. I've got some thinking to do.:1frown:

EFES is good if you need quality training on how to sell FE and a fair lead-generation system.

You pay 10 days after you receive your leads, giving you time to work them and generate sales.

Typically, you start at an 85% or 90% contract, depending on the manager.

Lead costs are production-based, which is nice if you're a decent (and consistent) producer. Lead mailers are typical FE-fare.

They're a good operation; as JD would recommend, call his manager Travis to see if he's accepting new agents -- he pays the highest and is the most upfront.

Also, consider looking into Securus or Monumental's subsidized direct mail program, too.

Best,
Dave

Is there anywhere that you can order lead drops and not pay for them up front? I haven't found one yet.

Well maybe LH!

1. You do not pay for your leads upfront. There is an initial start up cost and they have many different packages now. I believe they have one that's around $200.

2. The minimum order for leads is 15 per week if on their lead program. I don't know if they have a maximum.

3. They will credit for age, no phone number if the address is a PO box. I'm not sure on the crediting procedures over and abouve that. In over 3 and half years I have only asked for a credit a couple of times. They were always granted.

EFES is the best system out there for the agent that intends to work FE fulltime. If you are not committed to working FE fulltime, do not sign up with the EFES lead program.

I wonder if you could get 25+ leads a week...

Some get more than that. I know of one guy that was getting 30+ per week. You would have to have some pretty strong production for them to mail enough to get you 30+ per week.

Some agents that aren't producing want to just up their lead order. They think more and more leads will solve their problems. It won't.

Their start up is $410 for the lowest pack (15 leads, badge, & cards), but u dont have to sign up right away for it to be weekly. After some production your leads are always "fronted" & u pay 10 days later. You can also purchase bonus/excess leads for a lot less to get started.

No IMO/FMO is perfect, but I believe (although Im new) EFES is pretty good. You also want to be with 1 of the top MGA's for excellent training/support. All the top ones are probably very good...Inc. MIGWarriors, Im witth them!!

Good Luck!!

Thanks to everyone for your response on this Thread, I will consider everything that's said. The carriers EFES represent
are: Am Am, Americo, Occidental,Oxford, Presidential, RNA, UHL, Amer Con, and Foresters. I am already appointed with UHL, Foresters, and I believe I am appointed with Amer Con/Genworth. Of all the others listed who can tell me which is the best for rate, %commission rate, and underwriting?
I their premiums are so high that customers don't want or can't afford to pay it's a waste of time.
