I have been in an associate agent for over 3 years and now going independent.

If you don't have a grip on who the competitive carriers are you want to work with, it's highly doubtful that you are anywhere near ready to "go independent".

I can only speak for MD but you should get appointed with:

Carefirst Blue Cross
Kaiser
Coventry
Aetna
Golden Rule
Assurant

Carefirst and Kaiser don't allow direct appointments. I would recommend going through http://kaig.com Coventry doesn't offer MGA contracts so you can get appointed with them directly. Email MaryBeth Bendel at [email protected]

If you want to sell health insurance in PA, you must get approval from Chumps from Oxford and I have to agree to it, too!
