Selling MAPD Over the Phone

Yes it is allowed, however you must record the call, obtain permission to record the call (in some states), maintain records of the recording for 10 years, do not assist with an application on an outbound phone call, and do not follow up on an application you mailed the client without documented permission to do so. Just a few of the many things required to sell MAPD compliantly over the phone. Also, check with each carrier to make sure you are compliant according to their requirements. :GEEK:

not getting into everything now but

If you sell over the phone you follow up application the same way as you would if you met face to face

and if you meet face to face you have to keep records just the same
except you also need scope which you also keep 10 years

Strange seems a lot of people here not to happy someone sells over the phone

I will say I was originally trained by Humana 5 years ago when I worked for a broker call center

I now am under a couple large FMO's where this is common practice

besides that I have spoke with the various Ins companies on their policy over the phone

It is compliant, And it is easier the going face to face
I am sorry
