Should I Leave Lincoln Heritage?

I randomly stumbled upon Final Expense and I came to website for a top Lincoln Heritage manager.

When I went to a meeting, the manager was a very great and like minded person to me. The opportunity sounded great as well, and for that reason I jumped on board. I would usually research thoroughly, but I felt this was the right opportunity for me since we had so much in common and he is a good, honest man.

However, after joining this forum a few weeks ago, it seems LH is bashed left and right.

I do not think Lincoln is a bad company by any means. The Funeral Consumer Guardian Society aspect is a strong selling point, the home office is great, and our managers/regional manager are great people.

You can make a lot of money when you become a manager, etc. and even as an agent, but I don't want to put in all my time and energy to this company if it is a bad way to go.

And especially if there are other products which are equivalent and cheaper for the customer.

What are some solid reasons for why all the bashing of LH?

If you are with Lincoln Heritage and reading this, please do not get the wrong idea. I am not going to jump ship, I just want to make sure I am in the right place.

Thank you.

Edit: thank you for the many responses. It's always beneficial to have an open, honest discussion. Lincoln Heritage is still the best fit for me because of the simplicity of the product, FCGS, management, team, etc. There are many agents who make $100k+ per year at LH. Say what you will, but customers are very happy and more and more policies are sold every day. I wish you all the best and I'm sure we will cross paths again.

Hello. I am brand new to the Final Expense Industry. I'm 28 and I come from a background of being a Biblical Studies major in college, and then starting my own business for the past 4 years in the golf industry (played golf in college).

However, after joining this forum a few weeks ago, it seems LH is sort of the laughing stock of the industry.

I am committed to this manager but if LH is really that bad and there is better opportunity elsewhere (being independent, etc.), it isn't fair for me to stay just because of that.

If you have any advice, and/or if you are an independent agent or one who trains independent agents, I would be open to a phone conversation if you'd like.

I am very hard working, determined, and ambitious.

Thank you.

Im gonna give you some really solid, helpful and truthful advice that is gonna save you from failure, dont question this.....YES, leave now, dont walk, run as fast as possible, dont look back, look forward, eyes forward......just do it, you will thank me in a year. I PROMISE:yes:

After all you read - low commission, expensive resold old leads, little to no renewals, over priced for healthy people - why would you even stay?

I haven't read all of those things. Usually it's just a bash with no explanation.

The main thing I read was an old agent who felt he was screwed by a manager.

I know the contract is lower than some you can get right away as Independent, which is a big reason.

Also, expensive resold old leads? I am certain that is not the case. The leads I get are $36 DM leads and they are fresh and exclusive. The company replaces them if they are duplicate. Never had that happen or heard of it happening.

The renewals and expensive for healthy people I haven't heard much about.

Thank you for sharing those things.

There are some nice features though like the simplicity of the product, the free FCGS membership, etc. I create good relationships with my clients, so I think they are willing to pay a premium for the FCGS.

Same day advances on new business received.

Thank you for the replies and I appreciate the help.

Your leads are not exclusive. They can be old and they are resold to others. FCGS is LH. I get $30 fixed price exclusive leads from reputable vendors. Keep looking for more LH posts. There are so many. That should give u everything you want to know about LH

If you're writing this, that means you're ready to leave!!! Very over priced products for your clients if you really care that much about them. Good luck!!

80%. It increases as you get promoted.

Just my commitment to the manager and the opportunity to become a manager etc later. And the good home office and same day commissions etc. And the FCGS.

I just dont know what it's like to be independent, thats why im wondering. Thanks.

If they pay on submissions (same day advance) them and AIL may be the only ones that do that. I know they finance the leads into your commissions so it's like crack because you never see the bill until you're waiting for your paycheck and there's not much that comes out. Everyone wants to build an agency as the dream and I'm not one to love mlm/ everyone build a team but that's the insurance business and that's the dream of a LOT of producers. I've heard many times over of plenty of 'managers' getting screwed over right before they were due a promotion and now their renewals got cut.
I'm sure your manager is solid but he either doesn't know better either or maybe he's too entrenched to make a move. I agree with the other guys, make the move and you'll thank everyone later.
