Show your age by posting a gadget kids today wouldn't understand

The article was not clear.

I think the point is that the girls were told that they would no longer have access to the basketball court unless they agreed to play in the boy's league. They agreed to play in the boy's league and won the league championship. The trophy was awarded to the losing bys team.

The point is that's pretty f'ed up, don't you think?

And, the girls were told in advance of the title game that if they won, they would not receive the trophy. That stinks but they did agree to it. You really have no right to complain when things are conducted in the manner to which you agree.

On that, absolutely. I was confused with the dues and league part.

Unfortunately I think separate boys and girls league are going to be a thing of the past soon.

But yeah, the girls beat the boys. The girls get the Trophy. And all the bragging rights.

Kids sports are so fn competitive.

Edit: after rereading it and reading the coach's comments - it unfortunate, and yes they won but as the coach said they knew and agreed to the rules up front. Sounds like, as it is often in youth sports, It is the parents, not the kids crying. And only some of the parents. So no, they were never in the race for the trophy.

Again, don't you think it wrong that the team who won didn't get the trophy because the adult who runs the league didn't think it should go to a girl's team, even though the girl's rteam was the better team?

Yes. Absolutely.

One winner, one winner's trophy.
