Received a call this morning from two members who obviously had their Medicare advantage leave December 31. She is with United healthcare. He is with Humana.

When I met with them in October, neither of them told me they had received letters stating that their policies were not renewing for January 1, and I honestly did not look close enough in my files to confirm.

Can I still write them at 2014 Medicare advantage plan with a February 1 effective date using the SEP, even though it is beyond December 7?

I believe I can. Just want to make sure. Or, did I screw the pooch for them?

This is all on me. I should have checked, but was just in a hurry.

:Just called the couple back. Admitted it was my mistake. Meeting with them Monday afternoon. All is good.
