Slowest Two Weeks of the Year in Sales

The worst/slowest time to sell life insurance of the year is this week and next week. It is too close to cmas and the holidays.

I highly recommend that you do not do any kind of life insurance direct mailing this week or next. Save your money and wait until at least the 2nd week of January.

I find it almost impossible to make a sale, the closer you get to cmas. I’m not saying it can’t be done.

All I’m saying is if you are going to spend money on leads, direct mailing or a number of things. HOLD OFF until after the holidays. More bang for your buck.

I think most agents know this, but some may not.

I'm talking about Life Insurance on this post.

I've been on 14 appointments this week and made a sale at everyone. I got 3 referral calls today while running appointments. I have Monday and Tues next week booked solid. Of course, it's mostly MA business, but, when I was doing life insurance only, Dec. was always my largest volume month.

I've never been a victim of the pre-judged slow sales period. Maybe that's why it hasn't been slow for me?

I'm talking about Life Insurance.

I meant to put that on my 1st post. I'm not talking about enrollment periods or other markets.

I meant to put Life Insurance. This is my market.

3 of those 14 appointments this week have been for life ins. I have 3 FE appointments tomorrow and 2 for next Tues. Everyone of them called me from a referral.

It may be a slow time for mailers, I don't do any of those. It's not a slow time for business for me. I wrote the largest life policy I've ever written on Christmas eve 2 years ago.

I agree with you Mark - "not saying it can't be done" - but I have had a very good year in the life business. This month I am doing the same activities I have done all year - but not getting the same results. I am giving it a couple of more days this month and then spending the rest of the holidays with the family!

I guess we all need to move to Kentucky.

I do 70% of my business in Indiana. But, as far as being able to do business during this time of year, I know agents in several state that are just as busy as I am. They don't buy into the mindset of a slow time either. That could be the key moreso than where you live.

I'm sure that if I believed that this was a slow time, it would be.

I agree with most of the posters. This is not the slowest two weeks of the year.

Group enrollment options have to be made among other factors. I'm not necessarily MORE busy than other parts of the year, but not less busy either.

I approved this post and did not use spell-check.
