Shark proof

You can tie down your prospect by asking questions and helping them separate what they want, or think they want, vs what they need.

A referral I talked to last week THOUGHT he wanted his employer retiree health insurance because everyone else took the package. He thought his 30 years of "service" bought him a great plan at a low price.

I asked if he had compared the retiree plan vs the market, and he said he had not. He thought paying almost $200 per month + Part B was a good deal and the $3500 OOP + deductible seemed "about right".

I pointed out for a lesser outlay he could have access to any provider that takes Medicare, wouldn't have to deal with prior authorizations (which he was very familiar with) and would drop his OOP to $240 he was amazed.

He couldn't wait to get out of his retiree plan and pick OM + Medigap.

Ask questions and educate . . . stop trying to SELL something they can & will buy from the next offer that comes along.

I don't have to worry about someone coming behind me pitching the next best thing because they can't match what my client owns for life.

You are the golden god agent of medicare health plans sales - oh i mean advising in your case. How do you do it man? Your wisdom is awe inspiring how you get EVERYBODY to take the med supps your advocating /peddling and not the MA plans you are not certified or trained to sell ?

1. You don't have to be certified to know mapd is a certified shit plan (unless low income)

2. I've learned more from somarco on a daily basis and over the past decade then most on here. Can't recall 1 post from you that expanded my knowledge. Just drivel

Considering how much factual information he posts, including industry and other reputable sources (including some that cost a lot of money to subscribe to that provide industry breaking news, gold standard information, etc.) for his information I'd say off hand you'd discount what he says at your own risk.

Upper and middle income could care less about a food card.

Not true.

I have a client who just sold her business for 17 million last year.

She texted me about a food card.

I get asked all the time and I have low and high income clients because my area has both trailers and million dollar beach houses.

Free groceries is free groceries I don't care how much money you make.

I just tell people it's bait and switch and ignore it. I guarantee we all lose clients from those ads.

if someone is so smart he would know you can access any article on web if you enter the url here [EXTERNAL LINK] - archive.ph instead of paying a subscription.Bam

Do you notice he is ALWAYS putting down MA and agents who sell MA whether directly or indirectly.I have been selling medicare health plans since 1992 ( over 5000 MA and med supps cases written ) so i do believe i know more than he does about both but i don't go around acting like i am better than other agents..Bam

Not everything published is available on the web for free. There are plenty of sources that are pay only. Some of the better ones in business are pay only. Yes a few you can read an article or two free each month on some of the sites but on many you can't. Not everything is archived either. Some information you can access through the better public libraries and university libraries, but then with some there is a 1-3 month delay before you can get it that way. These companies that restrict access except to paying subscribers need the money to pay the salaries of the people who work for them and can't afford to give away their work.

In addition these companies do a lot of the work for you curating information from a ton of credible sources, they follow legislation and other useful industry related information both nationally and in states (depending on their focus). They use credible sources and write up the results. Makes it way easier and faster to keep up and find out credible information in a timely manner.

There are several web archives out there. None of them have everything that is or was on the web in their archives. Certainly using the one you posted could help find things that are or were available on the internet, however you are not going to get everything in that archive anymore than you will get that in other. And again, some information is only available if you have a log in. That doesn't usually show up in archives unless the company who owns the copyright releases it.

So write her a plan that includes free Uber rides to the grocery store.

Like I said in my other post, curiosity is not real interest. But yes, we're all getting calls or texts because they're curious.

I simply answer their questions and move on. And I've yet to lose a single one over a silly ass food card.

so i do believe i know more than he does about both
You just used the word Bam twice in one post.

I'm going to call you Bam Bam from here on out.

As for knowing more that he does, I'm afraid you're going to have to prove it.

All we know about you is a forum name. No real name, no web site, no nothing. And only 531 posts?

It's going to take more than that to replace the big dog.

I get it is hard to believe that someone posting anonymously here has been in the medicare health plan biz since 1992 but its true. Not here to network .When i started with Combined Insurance in 1992 my manager/mentor that trained me to sell medicare supplements was very good at it but he really hated Humana Plus choice plans or whatever they called it back then and he would pull out all the scare tactics when we came across a prospect who had it.Took me a few years to realize that the Humana plan was actually good -for some people and that the same shoe don't fit on every shoe.
