Saved myself quite a bit on a rootcanal.

Have you done the math on this? Retails rates for dental procedures can be through the roof.

Yep and the Assurant fee schedule pays quite a bit. People do buy it and often keep it. Upfront benefits paid right away no waiting periods no deductibles. Easy electronic application and agents actually make money selling it, unlike the Humana plan which pays crap. Not worth spending any time on selling Humana indie dental in my opinion.

I'm not a dental expert, so HealthGuy, what is a good dental contract with Assurant?

Without our dental discount plan, we'd be hosed. My wife has had two major procedures that saved us thousands and we saved about 50% on my son's braces.

Many people here use Mexico as a backup plan for expensive procedures. I get normal cleanings done in AZ, but anything over $500 is a great excuse to spend some time on the beach in Rocky Point and get the procedure done on the way out of town.

Yeah, I posted the info a few months back. I think it's only available in certain states but again, our dentist recommended it.

My wife deals with all this stuff. She just came home months back and was all excited about the rate for the braces.

If that's the plan you have, it says participating orthodontists will provide a 25% discount. Not sure how they calculated your charge of $1,600 down to $800. But I certainly wouldn't point out their error.

My wife told me we're saving 50% but as a former Hooter's waitress, her math might be off:-)
